Game Description:

The ShatterBall experience is unique, but gameplay can be described as a combination of mini golf, billiards, and pinball, but with a puzzle flare. You can learn to play ShatterBall in a matter of seconds. However, each new level offers a complexity that will make you feel truly awesome as you advance through the game.

You can bounce your glass ball off of the sides of the screen and off of rubber objects, but you'll need to avoid hitting the concrete blocks or metal pipes which make it shatter. With a multitude of moving and spinning objects, it will take some skill and strategy to get your ball to its goal. Use your expert aim and timing skills to get your glass ball to the star, and light it up.

You can drag your glass ball anywhere within the control area (the flashing box), but you will lose control of your ball as soon as it goes outside of the control area, or as soon as you let it go. If you let it go too slowly and you don't want to wait for it to break, double tap the screen and then tap the "Retry Level" button.

There are varying degrees of difficulty from level to level, but in general, the first levels are easier and the last levels are harder. Each time you beat a level, the next one is unlocked and your progress is auto-saved. Beat all 60 and prove your awesomeness!

Features:

  • Exciting, intuitive gameplay with precision ball control
  • Physics based interactions between the glass ball and other objects
  • 60 unique, beautifully rendered, fun-filled levels that can be played and played again to your heart's content
  • Sweet sounds and smooth animations
  • Progress is auto-saved after each level is beat

Tips:

  • Every level has been thoroughly tested and is beatable. If one method isn't working for you, try changing angles, speeds, and which objects to bounce off of.
  • If you decide that you set your ball's speed too slow, you can start the level over quickly by double-tapping the screen to bring up the pause menu, then tapping the "Retry Level" button.
  • You can grab onto the very outer edge of your ball to prevent your finger from hiding it while it is under your control.

  1. Hi. I bought the 99-cent version of Shatterball after trying the free version, and it is a very cool game.

    Thanks!

There's one issue I'd like to see corrected, though I don't know if you'd call it a bug or just the lack of a feature:

The game description says that the ball can be dragged anywhere within the control area, but once outside the control area, you lose control over it.

However, I find that if I release the ball with any movement at all, I lose control over it as soon as I let go. The control area boudaries disappear and I cannot grab it again even though it is still within the area.

What this means is that if I inadvertantly let go of the ball at an extremely slow speed, I will not be able to grab it again for a VERY long time, until it finally hits something and shatters.

My suggestion is that as long as the ball is within the original boundaries of the control area, it should be permitted to stop it and take the shot over again.

Thanks again for a fun game.

    Daniel

  2. Daniel,

I'm glad you're enjoying the game. It's actually by design that you lose control of the ball if you let go of it, but I am considering changing that as you suggest for a future update.

Remember that you can regain control of the ball at anytime by double tapping the screen and then tapping the "Retry Level" button. That way you won't have to wait for it to shatter.

    Thanks for the input

  5. I love this game, but am completely stuck on Level 42. Any hints?

  6. Level 42 is Tricky. You need to use all 3 rubber objects to bounce the ball to the goal, starting with the right-most rubber object. You need to send your ball nearly straight up, but slightly to the left to get the right bounce off of that first rubber object. Keep at it - if you've made it this far already, you'll get it! Glad you're enjoying the game.

  7. Great game, but I am completly stuck on level 46. Trying to figure it out is making me bonkers, so any hints would be appreciated!! This is one of those rare, truly fun games out there, and well worth the paltry $.99. Highly recomended. :)

  8. There are 2 ways to beat level 46. My preferred way is to send the ball straight up, with a pretty slow speed, in between the two concrete blocks as they are moving from the left side of the screen to the right.

The other way is to bounce the ball off of the right side of the screen to shoot it up between the concrete blocks as they're moving from the right side of the screen to the left. You'll have to send the ball really fast to beat it this way. Have fun!

  9. Can you add STATS:
Least number of shots taken to complete each level.
Total number of shots taken for each level.
Total number of shots taken to complete ALL levels
Total number of shots taken for ALL levels.

Least amount of time taken to complete each level.
    Total time on each level.
Total amount of time taken to complete ALL levels.
Total amount of time on for ALL levels.

  10. Regarding the request for STATS, it would really be nice to see all those so that after completing the puzzles, you still have some replay value, for those who continue to play and want to build up their stats!

Totals shots, per level and total across all levels.
Total time, per level and total time across all levels.

    Would be really really nice.

  11. i have tried to get past level 30 can you give me a hint. I have been at this level for over a month.

  12. Send the ball straight up through the shute on the left side of the screen, and time it so that the spinning rubber piece at the top bounces it down toward the star. Be sure to give the ball a decent amount of speed, because a slow moving ball won't make it past that spinning rubber piece. Keep going! You can pass it!

  13. Mr. Tegeder: I have not liked a an iPhone game as much as I've enjoyed Shatter Ball! Please tell me you are hard at work on a sequel because I would love to dive into that time-grabber! You've got a gold mine there and it also has a replay value to it! Have a great summer!
